Well, after being a policeman since 1973, I am turning in my gear in the morning EOW. No more free ammo, but I get to carry anything I want, now. No more free clothes either, but I get to wear what ever i want, too. Might even grow my first beard...
Good luck! I remember getting in my truck everyday for the first months, takeing off without a clue as to where I was going! Well at first I was still single otherwise I probley would had something else to do.
Lt JL... Thanks for your service. I'll lift you up in my thoughts and prayers for a smooth transition to retirement. Not having to shave every day is a good thing!

Congratulations! It'll be a weird feeling for awhile. I felt sorta 'displaced', but really happy to be 'turning a page'. The weirdness goes away.
Enjoy.
It took me two years to get used to retirement. I still miss some of the guys and gals I worked with. Now I play with guns and post on the Internet. Hope you enjoy your retirement. Don
