I have to buy my 15-22 from Cabelas because I have a gift cert. but they only have the standard.
I want one with the compensator so my question is if I buy the standard can I install the comp. or should I not worry about it and just enjoy.

Forgive me as I am new here, but by compensator are you referring to a flash suppressor at the end of the barrel? If so, I have one without and it works just fine for me. I believe it is just a visual thing on the 15-22. If you buy one with a flash suppressor, it has the barrel threaded so you could use other features or swap out styles. If you buy the one without you will have to have someone thread the barrel for you. There are people on here who could do it for you.

Guys feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Joe.

Joe,

You are spot on... And this is a service that our fellow member Belt_Fed offers! (barrel threading)

I forgot that Jody (tacticool22) also offers a thread adapter for the end of the barrel (affixes with set screws and has the correct thread on the end).

So you have those two options if you can't get Cabellas to order the version with the suppressor.

There is a website that pays cash for giftcards, might not be worth it though depending how much is on your card.

Ask the guys at the counter if they can order the threaded version.

The S&W model numbers are these I believe.
811030 is the plain barrel
811031 is the 10 round fixed stock, plain barrel "NY" edition
811032 is the 10 round collapsible stock, plain barrel "CA" edition
811033 is the threaded barrel, 25 round mags
811034 is the MOE version
811035 is the MOE FDE version
813000 is the pistol

Thanks for the replies.
Maybe I should talk to the manager as none of the guys seem to know when I asked about the threaded one.

I didn't like the gelded look of the plain muzzle.

But the flash suppressor is mainly cosmetic.

When did Cabelas start selling suppressors?

Buy what is available. Shoot it. Have fun...

Buy other one later when available. Shoot it. Have fun...

Buy...

Buy...

See the trend. Problem solved. :D

Went to Cabela's today to buy whatever they had available.
They got a new shipment of guns on 11-3.
There it was,the 15-22 with the threaded barrel with my name on it.:D
They had them for the "give away" when you buy the $1650 dollar gun you get the 15-22 "free".

Got my lazer and flashlight mounted on it and it looks great.
I'm going to get the stock sight's sighted in before I decide if or what scope.

Looking forward to shooting it.
Great forum,I learned a bunch.
Thanks

What are those lights for, to blind the paper target before you shoot it? :)
