This has got me thinking that "oldbrownhat's" eponymous old brown hat may be due for replacement. Like Krogen, I'm no hat fashionista (fashionisto?)

@Moo Moo, Yes, an Akubra might be an option. At one time I think there were available here but not now AFAIK.

When my wife and I dine at restaurants, the ones that still have coat rooms are few and far between. I always make sure our table seats four. My wife sits opposite me and my hat goes on the chair to my left.

Exactly, and her purse in the other chair. However, if there are no open places to put your hat, you keep it on (Church being the exception, hat in lap). Time's have changed, so have the rules.
