Hi all,

I have a 5906 (TFJ 4xxx) with the "shrouded" adjustable rear sight, like this:

How are these sights attached to the gun? I assume the shroud and the adjustable sights are separate units. Is it possible to drift the shroud left or right on the frame, or is it screwed on?

Thanks
Dan

The part you call the shroud is screwed on.

Hope this helps

Thanks Chris,

I just figured it all out, using the exploded parts diagram at Brownell's. The adjustable sight is held onto the base ("shroud") with two spring-loaded plungers. Once it's off, the sight base screw is accessible. I needed to drift the sight base over a mm or so to center it, so that when the I'm sighted in the rear blade isn't canted all the way over to one side.

Mission accomplished!

The wings are screwed to the slide with a fairly substantial screw. The sight body itself is held into the wings with pins and plunger springs.
