Question concern M & P Shield 9mm 1.0

Does anybody know if there is a reversible magazine release for my m&p shield 1.0 ? This piece was manufactured on 12 of 2018 if that means anything.The release is on the left side of the firearm but I prefer it on the right side.

Did they continue to manufacture the v1.0 after the 2.0 release? The reason I ask is that my v2.0 was dated 10/18/17, two days after their release date.

I suggest you call S&W Customer Service. They will have the correct answer, and your correct date of manufacture.

I cannot imagine that Smith was still producing their earlier model more than a year after replacing it with the upgraded model.

I am not aware that any Shields have reversible mag releases.

Image of my box label is attached: the box contained a S&W M&P 9 Shield, 1.0 version, Flat Dark Earth. Is the '041318' on the label a manufacturing date code? I bought it in November of 2018.

I did call and ask S&W CS back in 2012, when I bought my Shield.
It is not reversible.
and yes... the 6 digit code on your label is the manufacture date.
The date code change from a 4 digit code to the 6 digit MMDDYY code in Mid 2013.

The number on the box, o41318, is the packaging date.
Apparently it was manufactured on the 12th, and shipped on the 13th.
Makes sense to me.

Unfortunately no. Too bad as the compact .22 is reversible and very much appreciated.
