Question for those who Refinished their slides

I saw a post from TRUST8383 where he refinished his slide with James at xd-hs2000. Pictures look great and i want to refinish my SHIELD's slide as well "BUT" ---- I've had someone tell me to look into Robar the NP3 Plus finish. Now i've never redone a gun before so this will be my first and i do want to go with the better finish. One of you guys out there must know what would be the finish/company to stay with. I did want to change out my stock sights for night sights as well.

Any advice appreciated.

T---- Looks like a nice satin finish. I guess my quandry is: which finish would be the better for my SHIELD the one from Robar or the GunKote from XD-hs 2000 and which one would hold up better.

NP3 will be somewhat more durable than GunKote. It's also 4 times more expensive - 5 times more with NP3+. I'll take my chances with xd-hs2000 & CCR.

You can't go wrong w James. He refinished mine in titanium and installed some xs big dots I supplied. Really happy w the outcome.

Can I ask what type of holster you have in he pics?

Yep.......$22 at my LGS. The leather isn't preformed so it will take a little time to mold. I put a thin sock over the gun and left it in the hster for a few days. Works well....
