Let me be honest with you ... I have a couple in nice bright blue and a few in regular blue , the model 58 in my avatar has the old standard blue they put on police service weapons in 1974 , and they aren't the most durable or rust resistant finishes ... they will develop freckles at the drop of a humid hat .
The model 58 was carried by a B.R.P.D. motorcycle cop ... and was in very rough shape ... rode in Louisiana elements (rain) and left it stored in leather holster . I got all the freckles , speckles and rust off but it too a long time and lots of TLC and careful work .
Bright blue might look great ... but it will need upkeep !
Just wanted to let you know ... I'm getting older and starting to appreciate stainless steel ... a model 64 , 38 special (stainless ) gets shot the most nowdays because it's just so easy to clean and
maintain .
