Stumbled across a 2.5" 686, 7 shot, without the lock and has a hammer mounted firing pin. Pretty much LNIB.

Any clue when this was made?
Is it desirable in this configuration?
Anything I should know about this critter?

Thanks in advance

That sounds to be a 686-4 Plus, only made in 1996-'97, so they are not common. If it is at a good price you should consider buying it.

Thanks! I have never seen one and didn't know if non-lock guns were re-issued in these

OP anything under 1100/1200 would be a great deal.

Also, if it has combat grips like a Lew Horton it could easily go over 1200 if LNIB.
