Quiz: WHAT IS THIS??? RANGE REPORT WITH A RARE RIFLE

Now I'm really in trouble. That rifle shoots like a new one. Triggerpull is great without any creep. The extractor and case-container (ex-12-round-magazine that was cut down for better handling) works great. And after some sighter-shots the rifle let me look good at the range.

Reblue or not reblue that's the question. If I want to clean the rifle from every rust-spot, I had to grind off the old blueing completely. On the other hand, the rifle will not shoot better with a new blueing. And now normaly stored, well-oiled in the gun-safe has stopped the corrosion already.

I've made "T" target with three black stickers and tried to aim directly under the lower 0.6 x 0.6 inch sticker.
27 yards can be soo far away, if the age starts to mess around with the eyesight. And the original sights doesn't help any further.

Swissman, I really enjoy your posts. That was an excellent "find" and you were quite lucky.

That rifle did really clean up nice. Maybe you won't have to refinish it?

Good shoot'n!

what a cool .22. all day fun with no recoil for a few bucks in ammo.

nice clean up job. doesnt look like it neesd a re-blue

I think the rifle looks OK as it is now after you cleaned it. Unless it is really a problem for you, I would not refinish. A straight-pull .22 would be fun to have. I wounded how many were made?

You and your father were very lucky in that the rifle was still there. My great aunt decided to rent her house and live in an apartment. She stuck her late husband's .22 pump behind the furance.

When she moved back in, she decided I should have it. Unfortunately, the rifle was gone by then, taken by one of the renters, I'm sure.

That's the story of SwissMan's life. He is ALWAYS lucky.

I expect him to post one day that he was walking down the street and a total stranger asked him if he would be interested in buying a registered magnum for $20. All legal and legit, of course.

Thanks Swissman,
You always have some cool threads and posts followed up with some great pictures. Sometime when you're not doing anything post some pictures of Switzerland and maybe some of their gun stores.
