R8 paint problem

Hi guys, my R8 is my favourite revolver but I have a problem.
I shoot it a lot and it gets dirty. I have an ultrasonic cleaner so I used tap water and some cleaner. I have done this to most of my guns with no problems. This includes some which I have Cerakoted. Anyway, just a heads up to anyone thinking of doing this.

And I thought nothing could make that hard finish peel off. [emoji33] Obviously, I was wrong.

My R8 and V comp have that same finish. I have only used Mpro7 on them.

Looks like he used BATRY acid!!

It was an industrial cleaner, nothing special. It is on the caustic side if you were to do a litmus test. Thinned way down it is good for windows. Certainly not acid. The guy that sells it demos by writing on his jeans and removing with this stuff.

I had a similar problem with a Beretta frame, failed cerakote.
Shipped it to Evolution Armory who cleaned off the mess and and re-finished in black.
Might be worth a chat with them.

I showed my kids and they kind of like it, sort of like a new car painted to look like rust.
When I get to it I will Cerakote it myself. Cheers!
