An orca is shown breaching near Brockton Point in Stanley Park in Vancouver on Friday, Feb. 10.
The image was caught by wildlife photographer Frank Lin while he was surveying for seabirds with a volunteer team.

Two months ago, I was in Germany and Austria for ten days, visiting friends and going to Christmas Markets. On Friday, December 16, it snowed all day, and I drove in the region between Mittenwald and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, taking photos. The following day was bright and sunny, just beautiful, and I took the cable car to the top of the Zugspitze, which is Germany's highest mountain, and is marked by the golden cross placed at the peak...

That pic of the weathered shed is fantastic, suitable for framing! That and pic 3 in the second set remind me of Wyeth paintings.

Even though we've been using the C130 and M1 Abrams forever, they keep finding new things for them to do.
Pictured here at Ft. Bliss, for the first time ever, is a C130 refueling an Abrams tank.

Cabazon Time

Didn’t pick a very good day to go up there.
Just had that urge to go somewhere!
‘Cabezon Peak is a large volcanic plug that is a prominent feature in northwestern New Mexico. It rises to 7,785 feet (2,373 meters) in elevation, and nearly 2,000 feet above the floor of the Rio Puerco Valley.[4] Cabezon Peak is two miles south of the old ghost town of Cabezon and the Rio Puerco.’
