Yep. Planned on taking it to the boat ramp across from the beach today to get some cool pics, but the sky looked similar to the pic I posted.

I really want to go around sun set to get the best light.

Clearly not "the goose that laid the golden egg." I'm surprised PETA hasn't tried to deface or destroy it.

According to this article, he's not actually strangling it (although the goose might have had a different opinion).

Sculptures featuring children, animals and playful subject matter were popular in Hellenistic times, and this group features all those elements. The sculpture has boy and bird pulling in opposite directions, but both with feet apart, forming a solid base for the pyramid-shaped composition. Several similar sculptures have been found in Rome, suggesting a famous prototype.

The Roman writer Pliny mentions a sculptor called Boethos who made a group of a boy and goose. However, as there was more than one sculptor of that name, and the chronology does not tally, it is doubtful that the prototype of this piece can be linked to that artist. The heads of the child and goose are both modern restorations.

It was found on the Appian Way in 1789.

How would like your own personal Mountain in your backyard?
Here in NM and other places there are privately owned Mountains.
This was as close as I could get without trespassing.
I was standing at about 7,000 feet and Topo say this Baby Mountain tops out at 8,300 feet.
