The ID tag on the differential housing of a vehicle.
The space behind the " balcony" on the right, just below the flight deck, was my office during eight months in the Tokin Gulf during the Vietnam War in 1973. The ship is the USS Constellation, the photo was made in San Diego in 1999, IIRC.
I have been trying to find this pic for weeks to post in this thread. Just now looking for something else I stumbled across it. I guess if you lose enough stuff you will eventually start finding some of it.
Any how this was the day I met Miss Pam my friend and I were on a day ride and he was looking for his girlfriend. Turns out that she was Pam's best friend and was over at her house. Me and my bud rode over there and Pam and I hit it off right away. We would up going on a brief ride out to a local park. It was August 8, 1971.
Easily the luckiest, life changin'est day of my life. The blind squirrel syndrome was all over me that day.![]()

It's the 500. They didn't come out with the 750 until '72.
Well, Jack, you may be right...but maybe there's hope for me yet.
I keep the lyrics to Amazing Grace in mind..."I once was lost, but now am found..."
I had to look up Anderson Island to find out where it is, then I had to read up on it. So now, Anderson Island is added to the long list of places that make me say, "I wish I were there." Sounds like my kind of place. I like the photograph, and I like that setup a lot. Is it yours?
