Them extractor upgrades from BCM sure do a J-O-B. I have no idea what happened here, this was the first round out of a new build, with the upper purchased as a complete assembly. Every round after that was ice cream.

Here's two kinds of fishing in Alaska. Two photos are "combat fishing" on the Kenai. The other two are why I went.

Man that combat fishing looks like a typical weekend of revelers on the Sacramento River in the middle of the city. No thanks.

Sunrise over Camp Perry

Sunrise over the range at Camp Perry at some of this years pistol matches.

Taken with my cell phone, but they came out ok, I think.

Brings back memories!

Camp Perry is hallowed ground to me. A "MUST" experience for anyone involved in the shooting sports. The sights and sounds are just incredible, and commercial row can make a man go bankrupt, lol.

The best experience was the opening shot ceremony last Monday. The flag (which had previously been flown over the Capitol building) was raised, WHILE the Army band played the National Anthem AND a B-25 flew overhead. If THAT doesn't move you, you're probably living in the wrong country.

Every morning at Camp Perry begins with the firing of a cannon, can it get any better than that? Oh, and a ceasefire is called from time to time for EAGLES on the range. THAT is America, lol.

Harlemville, NY. Hudson River valley. It's one of our favorite places.
I forgot to mention, this was taken with a cheap a** camera/binoculars combination. I took out my range finder and the distance was 450 yards. I think deer are an amazing animal. They stopped eating and stood there, staring at our car until we moved on.

No idea what it's eating.

Tonight I tried out a modeling light made from an LED headlamp a friend gave me the last time we went hunting.

Odd that Jim Morrison's grave is with these other pics, but somehow a surprise trip to Paris is how that USA camping trip ended.
