Random Object Photographs

Old school MOPAR Six Pack hood in the process of becoming functional for my Vararam "Air Grabber" CAI that I customized to work on my 3rd gen Ram for which they do not exist.

I also fabricated the removable snorkel you see too.

Now that looks fun to drive. I LOVE muscle trucks, especially single cabs.

I LOVE vintage photos and those are awesome.

Thank you for sharing them with us.
Your most welcome. :)

The photographer, hubby's Grandpa George, was a true Renaissance man, with photography one of his many passions. He always had a camera with him and a light meter in his pocket.

He reminds me of the actor Jeff Chandler.

Thanks', me too. It's a blast to drive "literally", you don't wanna get down on it in wet weather too hard or you'll get a big surprise you might not expect.
When I finish with the scoop it'll dump right on top of this set-up.

Grandpa was an electrician at the United Nations, and took these photos at the Cornerstone Ceremony on October 24, 1949.

Cuba Libre

Coincidence of history. Hubby's grandparents had a Cuban tenant that they were very friendly with, and went to Cuba with him, to visit with his family. The photo shows the Cuban family and my hubby's grandma at the back, in front of the clock.

The date on the photo is August 17, 1958. That is in the midst of Fidel Castro's revolution, and was the week when the revolutionaries turned the tide against Batista.

From August 1st to August 7th, Castro's forces escaped certain destruction at Battle of Las Mercedes. Then on August 21st, a Castro offensive began on four fronts and progressed until Batista fled on New Years Day 1959.

I don't know where on the island they were, but I have to think those people in the photo had great concern about the events unfolding around them.
