Random Object Photographs

I took this picture in November 2018 in the Dominican Republic.
This black bird had just scooped up a sugar packet from the table next to ours, and flown up into the tree.

I titled it "Yeah, I stole a sugar packet....what are you gonna do about it?"

St. Augustine Lighthouse, it's supposed to be haunted.

Took the second picture from inside looking up on the last landing from the top. It really is haunted. May have to click the pic to see it.

This is what remains of Doc Foster's service station in the old neighborhood. In the 50s, some of us hung out here to watch Doc work on cars. The service bays smelled of grease and sweat, rubber and oil, and the sharp steely odor of old tools. It wasn't called City Auto Repair back then, and there was no such thing as auto "inspections". It was just Doc's, a home away from home for some kids.

We'd sit around on wooden soft drink cases drinking five-cent Cokes in those little glass bottles and eating cheese crackers or whatever other junk food we could get our little kid hands on. Sometimes we'd clean customers' windshields while they got gas.

We were wrapped up in our innocent little world back then. All some of us wanted to do was grow up and have our own service station like Doc.

We had no inkling of the monster that would be laying in wait for a lot of us in the late sixties.

This photo will enlarge if you click on it.

Here's a picture about 100 ft from the end of my driveway.

The view from the trail I was taking to the lake.

A few random pictures along the way.

Barney Lake, my destination - sort of.
I was asked by the Forest Service to go ride a new trail they built and let them know
if it was up to par or needed more attention. They did a nice job for sure.

Another picture of Barney Lake down lower on the trail.

Hunts Lake

I was actually out working today. :D
I was looking for places that need snow poles to mark the trail for the snowcat.
That and see what its going to take to get the snowcat down this trail to bypass
some fairly risky sections of switchbacks.

Yep. A rough day at the office.

Common in France are electronic automobile speed monitors. Some of these devices use cameras and record plate numbers to issue fines, and some just display speed for your information. A few displays will add an angry emoji if your speeding and a smile emoji if your under the limit.
This was one of the few speed emoji that was happy with hubby's driving.
