This is a picture I took of the Organ Mountains in southern New Mexico. They are located SW of White Sands and east of Las Cruces. My maternal grandfather once prospected in these mountains as a young man around the end of the 19th Century.

The American Hotel, built around 1867, part of the Cerro Gordo ghost town in the Sierras above Owens Dry Lake. To the west is Mt. Whitney, to the east is Death Valley. Great place.
