Made my usual stop at Willey Bros. Very classy operation. They always have great stuff at reasonable prices. If I didn’t already have a nice 617 ND, I wouldn’t have left this behind - however it it were a 4”... $829 with combats is a good price out here. Wish

I have posted this picture before, but fototime lost it. There were no other buildings near these long unused silos.
That is a mournfully expressive photo.
Makes me think about those massive rows of grain silos I saw in Pauline, KS. while at Forbes.
I live about four miles West of Forbes, the picture was near Perry Kansas. Forbes still houses the Kansas Air National Guard, flying the KC 135 fuelers. They extended the runways last year. Most of the base is now commercial, Fedex, Coco Cola, Trucking outfits and Topeka Regional Airport.
I recall going into a large beer/dance hall in Topeka where a band call White Clover was tearing the roof off. Shortly afterwards they changed their name to Kansas.
I went to school with Kerry Livgrens brother. The whole family was musically talented. His Dad was on the old WIBW radio every morning singing and picking with Miss Maudy. We would take Larry and his guitar to the main street in Burlingame, park in the middle of the street and get him playing. Better than horses and puppies to draw girls.
I had a miniature dachshund (12 pounds) and a boxer/pitbull mix (70 pounds). The dachshund was the oldest and therefore the boss. On two different occasions, my brother brought home cuttings from the meat room- 10#s or so- more than both could eat combined. Both times, the dachshund, "Brandy,"snapped at the bigger dog, "Bo". Bo responded the first time by picking Brandy up by his neck and the second time he lifted him by his rib cage. Puncture marks both times but no real damage. A whole lot of fight in the little dog...he never did back down...or learn.
Here's the two scoundrels when Bo was about a year old. Best looking dog I ever owned.

Yesterday I saw a woman that had a Large Woven indian basket
about 14-16" tall and round on the Antique show, made by one of
the top lady indians that makes baskets.
The gentleman priced it at around $65,000.

I went outside, retrieved my camera and walked over.
Super nice somewhat modified Model A.
He’s checking the oil and I take a look.
Not your grandpa’s Motor!
Unless he was an old Hotrodder.
It’s got the Miller Overhead Cam Mod.
Never seen one in the Wild before.

Fupi the orphaned giraffe returns to his whisperer – Ami Vitale’s best photograph
"Lekupania is an incredible animal whisperer. He went from looking after his family’s livestock to becoming one of the best wildlife keepers in Kenya. He’s rehabilitated so many species, from warthogs to gerenuks, and he’s never lost an animal under his care. He has rescued even the most vulnerable, difficult creatures, such as Grévy’s zebra, which is a highly endangered species.
Lekupania works in Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy in the far north of Kenya. The giraffe is an orphaned baby “reticulated giraffe” named Fupi, which means Shorty in Swahili. Fupi was injured when he fell into a ditch. He was rehabilitated and returned to the wild. And now all the rehabilitated giraffes come every morning to check on Lekupania. They do a round of the stables and greet him, then make their way back to the wild..."
