My gf's "Charlie-of-epic-whiskers." 20 lbs. of serious moggie, but who loves being picked up and carried around the garden.

Last summer we had a bunch of ugly nearby Forest Fires and numerous resources including Water Scooping planes were brought in to assist.
I went up to Cochiti reservoir, on the Rio Grande to get pics of them scooping water.
Unfortunately they had the entire lake locked down and I couldn’t get close enough to see the scooping.
So here’s a BOMBARDIER CL-415 climbing out loaded.

I worked a lot of fires over the years and watched the various aircraft do some amazing stuff. These folks have a really dangerous job, but they save a lot of property, and make fighting the fire a lot less dangerous for the ground pounders.

Here's an Erickson Aircrane snorkeling out of a cattle tank from 2006...

Another Aircrane climbing out after using a snorkeling tank back in 2008... note the rotor coning... she's heavy!

Here's a 737 on a bomb run from last year. The fire was down in a canyon so it's not really visible, but it was running straight towards I17. The burned area in the foreground was already out (mostly).
