Random Object Photographs

PeeBee moved the kittens from under my kitchen window a couple days ago when we got some rain. This afternoon she moved them into my next door neighbor's back yard behind a potted plant next to her garage. They had just been fed, and were sleeping like the babies they are when I took this pic. One of them had a dream going judging by the twitching rear legs.

While visiting Hawaii several years ago, I took this typical touristy snapshot of the sign at Waimea Canyon...

It wasn't until a couple weeks later while revisiting my photos that I zoomed in to find this surprise "Tiki" made by a woman standing in the walkway behind and above the sign!...

8:30 am. Am in shower. Yowling from Himself downstairs.
"WHAT???" I shout from the shower. (Futile enquiry.)
More yowling, followed by paw-steps coming upstairs.
I peer out - soaking wet - from the shower.
"Look what I just caught!" :)
Post-shower prezzie from Smudge.jpg
Smudge (aka "Nimrod the Mighty Hunter") is very proud of his hunting prowess and is quite insistent on showing off his conquests. When I dried off I removed it to the front deck, where it disappeared, presumably inside Smudge.

(No, I don't actually have my iPhone in the shower, but being "of a certain age" it's always close at hand)

There was an article in the NYT a couple of days ago about this.

How Fast Can a 2,000-Pound Bison Chase You?

Bison can weigh up to 2,000 pounds and stand six feet tall. How fast can they run?
Bison may be heavy, but with a top speed of 35 m.p.h., they can easily outrun any human. (Usain Bolt reached 27.8 m.p.h. during his world-record-setting 100-meter dash in 2009.) And that’s not all: Bison can also jump over fences and swim, according to the Dept. of the Interior.

I shot this 60 out of 60 last weekend in our Club Championship Service Pistol Match (similar to PPC and WA1500). This target was from a 25 yard stage where you shoot using your right hand from the right side of a barricade. This was a 15 second stage drawn from the holster starting in the surrendered position. It was the first time I've ever shot a 60 from 60 (and I have been trying for a long time too). IMG_1984.JPGIMG_1988.JPG
