I had a BG .380 for about a year - a couple of years back. I didn't have any reliability issues with it, but the trigger was awful so I traded it in on a (fabby, BTW) M&P .22 Compact. I just saw a thread over on TFL where a member said his late-2018 BG has a 6.5# trigger on it, and he is very happy with it. He posted a photo and it's a KEW-prefix serial. What says SWF? Did I miss something when S&W made a significant product improvement on the BG.380? I hope this is the case but I thought I'd ask ...

I don't know, but I bought one during black Friday week, and mine seems to have a heavier trigger pull than that, almost like my DA .38 snubs. Its serial number starts KFJ.

Actually today I was shooting two little guns, the BG and a Smith Centennial Lemon Squeezer. Love the Lemon Squeezer but compared to the trigger on it the BG is a dream.

my KCM [first 3 digits serial #] i think bought in 2015, maybe 2016, has a 9.5# pull. a newer one bought in 2018 has the same trigger pull. the long pull is smooth though. the 2018 model has a metal magazine release. that is one improvement S&W has made that was much needed. i think they have their broken firing pin problem fixed also as i've not seen any complaints regarding the firing pin.
every trip to the range i run 2 magazines of carry ammo [Federal Hydra shok] through it. and keep it clean and lubed even if i've not shot it for awhile. these little pistols need constant attention. mine is carried every day, either in the pocket or OWB in a Wright holster. it has given me no reason to distrust it.

Mine works fine... It's M&P branded so slightly newer but, I've had it for at least 5 years... Trigger is a little worse than my M36 but, it's better than a pocket knife those times when I can't really carry a gun....

a couple of pictures of my BodyGuards. Both have the Robar NP3+ treatment on all metal parts, including magazines. the feed ramps were polished and chambers were throated also. one is carried every day as backup, or solo, in pocket holster or OWB. i would not have spent the money for the trip to Robar if my confidence in BG's were not high. the pocket holster is a Veddar...

I just bought a new one a few days ago and I don't know if they've done anything particularly different, but I'm pretty happy with it, especially after shooting a couple older ones before buying this one. Pre purchase, I was already planning on a Galloway trigger or similar, but the factory trigger isn't as bad as I was anticipating. I didn't say it was good, just not as bad as I thought it'd be. I've gone through a couple LCPs, a P238, and a G42. If I'd have bought a bodyguard for a pocket pistol/backup first, I don't think I'd have gone through the whole gamut. Several hundred rounds in and I'm happy and impressed this far.
