Hi:

I am new here and just wanted to say Hello to everyone.

I have a question about "Red's Trading Post".
Has anyone purchased a handgun from them? They have
a number of items for bid on GunBroker, but they don't
sell.

Thanks,

Dan

I think they've got good feedback on GB, their stuff is probably selling slow due to lack of available funds. I could be wrong though.

I have bought 3 handguns and one used handgun scope from them. Fast shipping and everything was just as described .Would not hesitate to buy again they have been in business since 1936.

I think I vaguely recall buying something from them. Must have been fine because had there been any trouble I would remember them quite clearly.

Feedback OK on the auction site?

Bought one gun from them, and it was better-than-pictured, delivered faster than expected, and I received a nice follow-up call to make sure everything was OK.
I wish EVERY seller operated the way Red's does.

I can't remember if I ever got anything from Red's or not, but the
people I dealt with there were very nice and helpful. Offered to
do layaway on the item I was looking at. I've got them on a list
of places that I'd want to do business with.

I bought a Ruger sp101,.22lr 4" 1/2 lug lnib with the shipping sleeve pictured and numbered to the gun. Since they included a picture of the sleeve they knew it added value.

Red's shipped in the sleeve without using another outer box and my receiving dealer tossed it. Red's owned up to it and sent me a $25 check for damages. I'd much rather have the numbered sleeve but what's done is done. I'd buy from them again.

I had a very positive experience purchasing a rifle from them, and would recommend them.

Wish I Could Say the Same

I had a bad experience with the. Here's a recount from my post on a popular consumer advocate site:
I paid $960.00 for a rifle advertised as new. It arrived in an undamaged hardcase with a large scratch on it. They requested that I ship it back, and after some arm twisting, they agreed to send a call tag. After three calls from me, they finally have it picked up, and inform me that they don't have another rifle in stock, but "I can get you one". Not wanting to wait on a gun they don't have, I requested a refund. One month later, I finally receive a credit on my account, minus a 20%, $180.00 restocking fee, which was not specified in their auction or discussed at all. After explaining the whole thing to the manager, I was offered a reduction in charges-$25.00 for shipping and $25.00 dollars for "auction re-list fees". He said If I didn't like that, I could take it up with Gunbroker.com, which I did. Gunbroker was of no help, except to inform me that the "re-list" fees were 100% refundable to the seller. So Red's Trading Post charged me $25.00 to cover their shipping me a damaged rifle, and another $25.00 for "re-list" fees that they got back from gunbroker. They also "touched up" the scratch on the gun, and re-listed it again as "brand new". it seems unscrupulous dealers can dump their damaged inventory on unsuspecting buyers using the gunbroker.com site, and then charge the buyer whatever they like with gunbrokers approval. I had a problem free, 8 year history of buying and selling on this site, but I will go to my local classifieds from here on out. Too bad they allow bad dealers to mess things up. Buyer beware.

If this is the Red's Trading Post in Idaho I dealt with them many years ago but it was face to face in their store. I had no problems but it was a pretty simple transaction.

Joni's Trading Post

I think this place stole Joni's potential business name! With a beautiful mane like her's, Red's Trading Post would be quite appropriate!!!!!!:p
