My friend advised these ere made for lawenforcement . I saw the weapon and it is stainless with a 9 shot mag and appeared to have a 5 inch barrel. I have 2 5906s and 5 model 66s AND A 669 AND MODEL 19 BUT NEVER SAW ONE OF THESE BEFORE. hE STATED HE THOUGHT IT WAS MADE IN ABOUT 1999. HOPE THIS HELPS Thanks

S&W made the 1006, 1026, 1046, 1066, 1076 and 1086 10mm pistols both for LE sales (most notably the FBI 1076) and for commercial sales. They were all stainless steel and were made from 1990 to 1993.

I'm not aware of a 10mm semi-auto made by S&W as late as 1999.
