had. purchased a regulation police 32 long that had mother of pearl grips with a yellow spacer, looked weird, had an oversized spacer made for me out of imitation pearl and fitted it to my gun, l
think it looks so much better, decided to post some pictures for anyone thinking of pearl grips on a regulation police.

That yellowish spacer was ugly as a mud fence! You did absolutely right to replace it with a MOP spacer. My biggest question is what kind of bubba would have put that yellow piece on it in to begin with. Is it possible it started out white and just yellowed with age?
BTW, do you know who HE Wallace is/was? Do you have any history to go with this old warrior of a revolver.

PS How about a full view of the side(s) of your RP?

don't know what the H E WALLACE is on the gun, been thinking about gettin a letter on it, looks like its been a safe queen, I haven't seen a nicer bore absolutely no pitting, unfired maybe?
here's the side pictures also. I thinks the spacer was always that color, saw a set go stage grips on eBay with the exact same spacer.

Thanks for the additional pictures. The whole thing looks fully as nice as the pictures of the grips. I agree that the spacer looks like it started out yellow, since the protected areas are the same color. I just can't imagine anyone going to the trouble and expense of making those beautiful pearl grips then finishing them off by ruining their image with that yellow mess. Let me congratulate you and add my admiration for making it right all the way around.

Mister Wallace was likely a successful businessman. His prized revolver was likely in his desk drawer at work.
