Removing the pin

Move to Florida, then all you will have to worry about are the bugs and the pythons.

I just did mine and was easier then I thought. All I did was drill a hole same size as the pin on the opposite side. Pretty easy to determine where it goes and punched it through with a nail same size as pin. easy as that!

Do you have any pics??

About two days after you sent me your address.

Oh well, I'll send another one - I have a bunch from when I replaced them with the larger metal ones from ebay.

Have a great Thanksgiving day!

Not much to show but I assume your pin is in same spot as mine just flip it over drill in same spot where you think it would be with same size drill bit as pin. Grab a hammer and a nail that's same size the point on nail will keep it in place in the pin, give it a few light wacks and it pushed through with ease!

When u take the pin out, is it adjustable? Can I fully collapse it then pin it to the shortest length.

Yes you can fully collapse it but depending where you live me being in NY the law I think is 26" overall length and if recall it was still over that!

Even fully collapsed, the 15-22 is well over 26", 30.5 to be exact.

But anyway, I am very sorry to hear about all the stock-pins and stunted magazines and bullet-buttons out there and I hope things get better soon for y'all...of course, there are a couple of houses for sale in my area if you think you could stand a different breed of idiots in the legislature...

Stunted Mags are an eazy fix too. You can also get parts from S&W for the pin and follower. Drilled out that pin too. They were a real cheap deal and I wasn't paying attention... 10 rounders, grrrrr. Fixed and look just like 25's now.

You guys are overthinking it. Take a small drill bit and start drilling out the pin. The heat will soften the plastic and the bit will catch the pin and spin it right out. At least thats how I did mine.

I tried that but it wouldn't catch for me! Mine was in there pretty tight and broke a bit.

No need to drill on a magazine. remove the floor plate, insert a flat file into the magazine against the pin and hot it once of twice with a hammer. The soft AL pin will pop right out of place.

Tried that; Didn't work for me, either.

Been there tried that,no go. All it did was bend the pin in the middle and stayed put. Tried hooking it and jurking it out,no go. I have axcess to a full sized heavy equipment/truck mechanic bay. Have all the tools you could dream about. I ended up taking a small plunge bit off my router and went pin hunting from the outside. I took off just enough to locate the pin (lucky first shot). I marked the opposite side and drilled through with the same sized drill bit and hit the pin dead on and pushed it through. Did that to two more mags, dead on hits. All load and shoot fine. There wasn't anything "soft" about these pins once I got them out, they were solid pins, not spring pins. Older or newer ???

Then you aren't hitting it enough. I've done it to about a dozen of them for friends and it worked every time. In all cases, the pin was an aluminum roll pin. Maybe someone changed the design of the pins.
