The men's bathrooms at the Erie County fair back then had troughs and stalls, but NONE of the stalls had doors.
When I was going to college in the early 80’s, the bathrooms had the usual urinals, none of the stalls had doors, and the showers were communal, just a room sized thing with shower heads on the walls! My fraternity house was the same way, except the stalls not only didn’t have doors, but were separated by about a one foot wide partition. You could shake hands with your “neighbor”!
