Hello Folks, Please excuse my bringing this subject up yet again, but I was hoping to perhaps determine the overall quantity of all of the Contract purchases, as purchased by, & delivered to the U.S. Department of State primarily in Virginia, although some other locations may have been specified ? I've reviewed what assorted data I've been able to compile, yet it doesn't appear as if anyone has totaled up all the various Contracts, so as to determine a grand total, & perhaps a total by the 2 known barrel lengths we have observed ? As far as I'm aware, they were only produced with either the 2.5" & 4" barrels. All were Round Butt Frames, with Adjustable Sights. Apparently some Runs were Matte Blued, while others were delivered in Polished Blue. ( Based upon my observations, & I may indeed be wrong, it appears as if the 2.5" examples were primarily Matte, while many of the 4" were Polished Blue. ) The Contracts I've noted were from 1986 - 1989, & again, I may be off on these dates. My particular DSS 19-5, Serial # AYY 4698, was according to Roy Jinks, manufactured, or shipped ( he didn't elaborate ) during March 1988 as part of a 680 piece shipment for the U.S. State Department. I do wish now that I would have sent for a Letter, but I figured as the had the basic data, why bother ? Hopefully, once the Letters are available again, I think I probably should get one, as it's usually a very good investment. Soooo, if anyone happens to know of any information concerning these unique Revolvers, I would deeply appreciate hearing from them. THANKS YOU Guys,

Best, Dom P. / 'dpast32'

My unissued DSS Model 19 is a bit older having shipped in December of 1986

I can not recall seeing a polished blue DSS snubby, but in fairness I might not have given a polished blue snubby a second look if it was just out on a display table without any other information
