Revolver Display board project

Very nice, did you utilize the same spacing for the dowel rods throughout?
Yes. We made a little jig.
I thought we’d need different spacing for the k frames but actually I just found a spot underneath that worked.
Might need a little adjustment.
This is a kind of “beta” version with cheap scrap wood.
The plan is to make another one with nice wood and maybe a floating display board with strip lighting behind it.
All kinds of directions it could go but this shows the principle.

Nice idea. I built mine about 40 years ago. (Pardon me, It was for my Rugers...) I only had a few at the time and over the years I had to improvise where to add more.

I added a glass door. (pardon the picture quality I could not get rid of the reflection off the glass.

It IS lighted. I angled the pins slightly upward. My wife crochets so she made pin covers. As a teenager my Grandpa made me a rifle case and lined it in green felt, so I have kept that motif throughout.

I used shaker pegs instead of dowels or doilies.....

That is fabulous!!
Excellent job! Food for thought for me

This is a good thread, I made a small display board for my Iver-Johnson circa 1896 along with the period and selling it for $6.00. There is an image of a young child holding the revolver, and ad copy promising, "Accidental discharge impossible".

AT THE VERY LEAST - I suggest you install a locking door knob, & dead bolt, on your gun room door - since you are NOT storing in a safe.. I am very careful about what I openly display - of what ANY possible visitor is likely to see.
I own nothing Illegal - but I know of several cases where gossip got around, & attracted determined criminals.
A BAD unforeseen result. Please forgive my low opinion of modern era, & human nature.

Quick project with a buddy today..
I will felt this in blue.
Prototype in old ply and bed slats…
Fun project.
Very nice display. Planning the design and which weapons you would display for a long time. I did a similar one with a few of my dads that I retired, but put them locked under glass due to grand kid’s.
