I'm new to shooting and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any books or websites for revolver/handgun shooting technique. Been practicing DA trigger control every night and trying different angles and grips with trial and error but I'd rather start with good habits rather then develop bad habits and have to try and break them.

Thanks for posting that Pete. Mas knows his stuff, that is for sure! I've read and re-read his articles for years, and one of these days I'll throw down the cash for one of his coaching sessions.

I have Ayoob's Combat Shooting book. Only thing wrong with it is the Springfield XD 45 on the cover instead of a 3rd gen S&W, or a 1911. Plastic. BAH! ;)

I would also strongly recommend his book "In the Gravest Extreme" if you ever plan to CCW on a regular basis.

Gun Digest Book of the Revolver, by Grant Cunningham. You can also visit his website, GrantCunningham.com - Home . Lots of good information.

While not specifically about technique, I think Ed Lovette's book, The Snubby Revolver, also has some excellent information.

Thanks everyone. Looked up the books on Amazon and these were just the kind of books I had in mind. The city library has a few of them so I'm going to swing by there tomorrow on my lunch break and start learning.

Jerry's DVD is a challenge. Incredible material and poor presentation. The guy who made the original tape had no clue how to present the material in an interesting fashion. So it ends up being Jerry standing against a dark backdrop covering things one item at a time.

Matt Burkett's DVD's for Competition Shooting (not Revolver, but general enough to apply) are much better produced and interesting.
