Rick Bowles has passed away 2/7/23

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere … word is he passed from a heart attack today. Sad, he was a wealth of information about Randall knives and I bought several from him. Prayers for his friends and family.

I hate to hear this. Years ago, he sold me a very early Model 58 which I still have. We chatted on the phone for a good while, and that's how I learned he was the scrimshander for Randall Knives. He struck me as a very nice gentleman.

He was a terrific artist and a gentleman of the old school, a type of man we're always in short supply of.

This is extremely sad news. I had always wanted a large Randall Bowie knife. I contacted Rick about 4 weeks ago. He sent me pictures of 4-5 knives that fit the bill that he had on consignment. I ended up choosing a Randall Smithsonian Bowie Knife, and just got it a couple of weeks ago. Rick was so easy to deal with, and we all know how knowledgeable he was.

I wish I had bought one of the Randall knives with ivory that Rick had done his magic on many years ago!
