I saw him quite a while back at the Taft Theater. Witty guy.

A brilliant career based around a hammer, squishy stuff and trash bags.

The crowd ate it up as did I. I was in the 6th row so I only got a little over spray.

Well, off to YouTube now. Thanks for the memories, Gallagher.

Jeez... I didn't realize he was that old. Seems like he was on just yesterday. Now I really feel old. :(

Great comedian. I always enjoyed his show. :D

He was pretty funny. I seem to recall reading somewhere that at some point in his career he sold his act to his identical twin brother who then continued on as "Gallagher" for several more years. So did people who went to the shows see Gallagher or Gallagher ?

When I was in high school I won tickets to see Kenny Rogers and Crystal Gayle at the old Cap Center in MD.

Gallagher was the between shows act. Funny guy who put on a great show.

Come to think of it I am getting old too.

One of my favorite bits of his was on a game show where people tried not to let professional comedians make them laugh. He had a bicycle with a car door mounted on it and he would ride it around. The joke was he had a suction cup dart gun and proposed that if someone cuts you off in traffic, you shoot them with a dart. If a cop sees a car with 3 or more darts, he pulls them over and writes them a ticket. Thin premise that he made hilarious. RIP to a very funny man.

What a shame.

Gallagher was a great "prop comic" who was very inventive.

My favorite line of his was not prop related and came at the end of a routine.

He said, "Never let your Mom brush your hair when she is mad at your Dad", then pulled off his cap to reveal his bald head! :D

RIP, Gallagher.

John
