So as my name indicates, I'm pretty new to revolvers.
I own a M327 TRR8, and just the other day bought a brand new M586-8, with a 4" barrel.
My question has to do above the forcing cone. My TRR8 has what I call a blast shield, (not sure of proper terminology) attached to the top strap, between the frame and the forcing cone. My NIB 586 does not have this shield between the frame and the forcing cone. Is this OK? Is the Carbon Steel so strong that it does not need this shield? Am I going to have problems with flame cutting, using 357 magnums?
Please, any help greatly appreciated!

Yes it is perfectly normal. The scandium alloy magnums have the blast shields and the carbon and stainless do not. the 586 will do just fine without it. Over time flame cutting is normal on the 586 with many hot loads. just shoot and enjoy, no worries.

Thank you gentleman! Didn't want to shoot it, if it wasn't right!
Thanks again for the help. 586 will be at the range tomorrow!
