As the "have to sell now" season has begun, the LGS owner, a friend of mine purchased a nice late '70s Model 57. The stocks it were all dinged up and peeling so he asked if I had any better ones.
So, I swapped a set of GA stocks I'd refinished for these, obviously not original to that era gun:

Started the refinish process, so decided to image them.
Wondering if they might actually be "real" rosewood, as the nicely figured wood is different appearing than any GA wood I've ever seen.
According to SCSW, there were, at one time, actual rosewood stocks.
Anyone?

thanks.

I have some rosewood grips and they are usually heavier than goncalo alves but the grain and color can be similar.

Jeff Nice stocks I too think GA but I'm really low on the totem pole.
I believe they made them for sure and think these may be.
I've even seen some with speed loader cut out that I thought were rosewood.Which I really found surprising
