Ruger SR1911

My .45 auto is made by AMT.
That's Arcadia Machine and Tool.
Remember them? All Stainless and has never jammed or any problems at all!
My other 45 auto is a Ruger 345. This is a fine pistol with very neat features that I really like.
Many Years ago, I owned a Ballister Molina 45. This was the worst copy of a 45 auto I ever owned.
I sold my Colt that I carried on duty "cocked and locked" to a very close friend who always savored over it.
I prefer a revolver in the bedroom these days as my favorite caliber is 357 magnum.

I have two Ruger Lightweight Commanders right now a .45 and the new 9mm. Both great guns right out of the box.

You are my hero! I recently added the Commander SR1911 in .45 and love it! I am now on a mission to add the 9mm. My Ruger so far has been accurate and dependable and has a nice trigger out of the box.

I have both the Ruger SR 1911 and the S&W 1911, in all honesty I can't say one is any better than the other, both shot to point of aim right out of the box.

Have a lightweight commander, and it is my cold weather off work cc. Very pleased with it, especially the insert that keeps the frame from being battered by hp's or mag followers.

Other very nice features are the sights, relieved edges, trigger and safety/slide release tube (brain fade for correct name) being forged in frame.

The only mods made to it was recutting the barrel crown, and relieving the inside slide edges (should do this for all alloy frames) and adding slim grips.

I just bought a Shield .45, which will be my carry gun and all-around general purpose gun, but I will always have a special place in my heart (and safe) for a 1911. In my case, a Ruger will do just fine.

I came across this thread, and thought I'd update it. I was able to buy a SR1911 CMD a couple of months ago, and I am very happy with it. For some reason, I've always preferred the Commander length over any other configuration.
