I've got a Leek in my pocket right now. Like it a lot.
Probably makes more sense than most reasons commonly used. Still, . . . .I guess I'm a snob but I've always thought a little less of a man that didn't carry a knife.
Pretty hard to beat a Benchmade 710-big enough for about anything, very fast to open yet light enough not to weigh one down even in dress pants.
I recently stepped up to that from a Benchmade 940 I had carried for many years.
But, if I lost my 710, I'd go back to the 940 without a second thought.
I especially appreciate Benchmade's Lifesharp deal, for $5.00 (to defray shipping I believe) they'll sharpen the knife to factory specs and, with my 940, they replaced some parts for nothing.

Like many of you, I suspect, I'm a fan of the TV show "NCIS."
...
At any rate, their "Rule number ?" is "Always have a knife." That rule has gotten the fictional agents out of many a scrape. The fact that the show is fiction doesn't negate the rule.

Have carried some kind of 3" folder for as long as I can remember.
Currently it is a liner lock imported one. My knives get lost, worn out or damaged by abuse on a regular basis, so I quit buying $50 knives, seems I can't loose a cheap knife.
For sharpening, Arkansas stone, or whatever I have to use to get it to where the stone leaves a good edge.
I never leave the house without a sharp knife, and probably average using one once a day (not including mail.
Too bad it is illegal for anyone to carry a knife in Ga. with a blade over 2". I guess we are all unconvicted felons.[/QUOTE]
Gad! In Georgia?! That sounds like something that'd happen in Chicago! In fact, I think it has.
