As a new member to the Forum I'm looking for some information on a revolver recently inherited. Serial number is 206338 and is both on the butt and barrel under the ejector.
Looking for age and if the current 32 S&W Long cartridge is the correct load for this gun? The barrel has the marking 32 Long CTG. Thanks

Looks like a nice gun in reasonable shape.

The 32 S&W Long ammo would work fine. There are some nice factory wadcutter loads out there that would be quite accurate in that gun.

I can never find them locally, but there are lots of mail order places that carry 32 long.

Not too expensive, either.

Welcome! You have a .32 Hand Ejector from about 1915-'16. As Cal44 noted, .32 Long is the correct round (major factory loadings are light in deference to older guns), and .32 S & W (also called Short) will also work; the former is much easier to find. Enjoy!

Actually, a 32 Long will chamber and fire in a 32-20. Bullets are similar diameters. They do, however, split the 32 Long brass casings. Don't ask how I know . . . but they are really accurate in a 32-20 revolver. :o

32 Long is an easy cartridge to reload, with many powders and reloading recipes published. My favorite load is 2 grains of Trail Boss with a 98 grain LRN or 96 grain SWC bullets. They run about 750 fps.

Thanks for all the information and quick response.
I had found some ammo on line but wanted to be sure of the
round before ordering. My grandmother used this revolver
and intend to pass to my daughter for her use.
