I am a revolver man, but a friend of mine has a NIB model 39 9mm with the steel frame. He wants me to buy it, but thinks it is quite valuable I guess. He has offered it to me for $1300. It has the box, papers and works, but I think that is a little steep. What are these things worth? I may be able to get it for a grand. We are going to hook up next week.

SCSW has it listed at $1600.00 NIB. They also state they made 927 steel frames, but didn't actually assemble them until 1966. I'd try to get it to a grand, but it would have to be truly NIB with all accessories for me to pay that much. I'm not much into safe queens, but it's probably a true blue collectible.

Try to get it for a grand.....but either way...get it! You won't get another opportunity if this one slips away (you know, shoulda, coulda, woulda?). This gun will only increase in value, and they feel oh so good in the hand! I have two 39-2's and they are awesome guns. Extremely good looking , too.

With only 927 ever made that is a fair price. If I had the money and the opportunity, I would get it.

Like others have said... don't mess around, buy it, before he changes his mind, which might happen if he can't get his asking price, or gets put off by what he perceives is a low ball offer.

Sounds like your friend is knowledgeable about the scarcity of steel framed 39's and has priced it accordingly. Their value has only one way to go... up!
