S&W 460 proper size cleaning bore brush

Thanks for viewing my question. I've read quite a few ideas from owners of the 460 on what size brass bore brush to use but the threads were over 5 years old. Just looking for anyone's recent cleaning experience and what size you use, seems some use a 50 cal. brush..?? I know that it is recommended to use a 45 caliber since the 460 is basically that bore. I would "think" that a 50 would be a snug fit and would bend the ends over when in reality you want the ends of the bristles to do the work and not be bent over each other. Despite the name, the .460 has a standard .45 Colt bore diameter. Perhaps use a .50 caliber bore brush for the charge holes, but I see no reason to use one for the barrel.

I thought the 460's velocity was so fast, with those 200gr bullets, that everything dirty followed the bullets out of the muzzle.
No cleaning necessary.

The 45 acp brush will get the job done.
To stop the ringing in the ears, will take a few days.

I use a 45 brush in my 460 and a 50 brush in the 500.
I would not use a 50 brush in any of my 45 caliber firearms barrels. I do use them occasionally to clean the 45 chambers.

Would you consider using a 50 brush in a 45ACP barrel?

No, I wouldn't. 45 bore brush for the barrel and more than likely a 50 bore brush for the chambers.

Use a.45 caliber brush for both the barrel and charge holes.

the 460 also shoots 454 Casull & 45 Colt... so just like the 357 is a 38... the 460 is a 45...

They also make 45 chamber brushes that are a little bigger than 45 barrel brushes.
