S&W 627 for Action Shooting

From the samples I have seen, in addition to the ones I have, I think the guns of the 1990s are of excellent quality, and better steel than earlier models. I know it is hard to beat the guns made up until the early '70s, but the 90s guns seem to be of high quality. The stainless guns, at least the N frames, are of high quality.

I looked up the serial number of the M28 it is N566XXX so if i am right it was made in 1978. Are guns of that period well made or wasn't that a good time for Smith & Wesson?

I think there are good guns and some not so good in every era. The important think is to check this gun and see that everything functions properly before purchase. Or that they are easily fixable.

Have to bring that thread up one last time.
In the meantime i bought a S&W 586 used with a beautifull trigger. Will add pics soon.
It was a tough decission because my heart is with an N-Frame .357 but i think it was the better decission for PPC shooting.

Still i have a technical question on N-Frame S&Ws
Has anyone ever seen an M28 with an aftermarket barrel (bull barrel).
I searched google over and over but came up dry.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all
