I'm a 3rd gen semi collector, but I just bought a 67-3 and have a few questions.
1) Is this a stainless steel model? Can't tell by the pic.
2) Is the hammer pinned, hitting the primer directly, or hits a firing pin like a semi?
3) It's a LEO trade in from a PD dept on a U S Island Territory. $300.00 shipped. Ordered it at 10am, got a USPS shipping number at 11:30. Fastest that's ever happened.

I just thru in the location where it was issued. And the price to see if it was a decent deal. #3 wasn't meant to be a question. I like to prove I can count.
Thank's for the info.

The 67-3 is an interesting variation, forged internals, grooved tangs, new rear site drilled and tapped for scope mount (top) with 67-1 below.

While the 67 and 67-1 (left) have a tapered barrel like the earlier Model 15 the 67-3 has a HB like the 4" Model 14 (shown right)

Congrats on the Model 67.

Thanks. I don't have it yet, heck from the picture on Arms Unlimited I couldn't tell if it was stainless or worn blued. So like any weapon's we all buy on line, we roll the dice. Have not been disappointed yet with any internet purchase.
Pawn shops and even LGS's want a arm and a leg for crappy weapons. Sign of the times we are living in now I guess.

Thank's for the pics and info on the barrel. Great looking weapon's you have there. The pic of one of many they are selling is on Arms Unlimited along with some details. For $300.00 how bad could it be. Hmmm, I wonder ?

A clean shooter grade 67-3 is perhaps around the $400 range anything below $400 is a bargain if its 100% mechanically solid especially if it has nice wood stocks although IIRC they came with rubber when new.

Thanks to all you guys for the lnfo. When it gets to my FFL I'll give a report on condition. (no pics, I'm not high tech)

You will enjoy that 67-3 it is a fine weapon and I hardly ever see them for sale.

The 67-3 is interesting when you look it over closely and I especially like the wide rib barrel like its blued twin the 15-5 to 15-7 series.

Another interesting point is when you look closely at the frame where it meets the barrel (just under the ejector rod) you will notice the 67-3 is longer in the "Yoke cut" like the 66 frame, The Model 66 was made longer there to mate to a shrouded ejector rod barrel,
My guess is S&W decided to simplify production and using one frame for the 66 and 67 models simplified production .

Especially made sense in the later Model 15 line since the Model 14 used a full underlug barrel at that point but since there was no SS full underlug K-38 the 67-3's closest cousin would have been the Model 66 K Magnum .

Well the $300.00 (shipped) 67-3 arrived at my FFL today. WOW!!! It's close to mint condition. Action tight, no scratches, bore clean and sharp and no carbon build up on cylinder face or frame. Pac grips little wear. CLEAN revolver. I can't post pics, not hi tech. But can send from phone.
Happy as all heck.

Congratulations! If mechanically right, you got a very good deal in my book! The 67 is stainless, not nickel. You are sure to enjoy it. I have a 67 no dash from 1973. It is an early1, with all stainless rear sight. Bob
