I bought a new M&P 45 Mid-size today (full size grip, holds 10 rounds, with a 4" barrel.) I really like this configuration. I'm not a target shooter, so I don't need the longer barrel (as if 1/2" would make a tremendous difference) but will use this for home defense. I haven't come across these too often, so when I saw it, I decided to take it home with me.

On a related note, the gun shop was SWAMPED today...even during the middle of the day, on a weekday.

Congrats on the new pistol!

The "mid-sized" .45 is my personal favorite M&P, just right.

Absolutely love my 45C. And I agree on the swamped thing (Swamp Thing...mmmm, Adrienne Barbeau!:D). Went to the range yesterday and at 2 PM the gun shop area was packed, mostly by 40-something dudes in expensive suits eyeballing anything that looked "tactical". Reminded me of the RUB (rich urban biker) crowd of the 90's...

I bobbed the beavertail on mine; it is a handy size (full-size mag, slightly shorter barrel and slide). Mine has been very reliable.

My mid-size .45 is my duty gun, it has the beaver tail trimmed and works nicely under a coat in a Comp-Tac OWB...but who makes that particular holster bluejax? I have always liked that Avenger/Nelson whoever gets credit style and that one really rides high, trigger guard up over the bottom of the bottom line of the belt.

Congrats! I've been tempted to get one. I know once I get a shield the 45c would probably start collecting dust. The 45c seems to have a big appeal to me though. I'm not quite sure what it is.

Just picked one up today. Can't wait to shoot it. And yes, the store was swamped. I had to drive an hour away to get it. None of the stores near me had any.

Luckily, I came across my 45c before the election after searching for 6 months. I saw lots of full size 45's but no mid size 45's. I went ahead and bought 2 Shields in the meantime. I carry the Shield 40 the most but now that it's winter I almost always carry the 45c (especially after adding Trijicon HD's, a Apex DCAEK & AEK trigger). At night it sits on my nightstand with a 10 rd mag, x-grip, and X300 with DG switch. As far as versatility, you can't beat it.

Good luck with the .45. I seriously considered adding one to my collection but decided on the Springfield Armory XDS - very compact - feels great in the hand - but has only 5 + 1 rounds.

I've had the full size and a compact in .45. Today I picked up the mid size 45. It's just right.. :)

The holster is the Enhanced Avenger. I ordered the lining and holster mouth reinforcement options. Ordered 10/20, received 11/21. This is my second Lobo purchase and I would not hesitate to order a third...

This thread needs a picture of a mid-size. :D

This 45 has the Apex DCAEK installed and the sights have been changed-out. For me, it's perfect just like it is. The 22 on the right has the same sights as the 45, 10-8 Performance brass bead up front / u-notch in the back. Both guns shoot POA, the 45 with authority.

This Kramer pancake in horsehide does a very good job riding high and tight. The holster works for both the midsized and the compact.

I have a Shield 9mm and it is my carry gun...and the 45 is my home defense gun. :)
