Hello,
If anyone here has a recent Hornady manual. I would appreciate some reload info using the 250xtp bullet and either Unique, xmp5744, or 2400. I am looking for something tha will not shake the gun apart in short order. Hope someone can help.

I have that particular 45 Colt model, but do not load any of those powders routinely, preferring Lil'Gun. It gives better velocity (and accuracy for me) at lower pressures.

I like the Hornady 250 HP/XTP with around 21.5gr Lil'Gun (edit: reduced charge a little from my previous post -- previous charge OK in *my* gun only!). This load is under 25Kpsi, which is fine in the 25-13, at least according to several articles on loading the 45 Colt by Brian Pearce in Handloader. I also load the RCBS 45-270 SAA cast bullet (around 282gr) with 20.0gr 4227. This is a very effective field load, having excellent accuracy and remarkable penetration.
