I picked up this model 29-4, 3 inch over the weekend. It is in like new condition and came with the original box, all paperwork and unopened tool kit. So, I thought I would share a couple photos of my new gun.

Good looking 44! Congrats! :) Regards 18DAI

Great gun, you will love it. I have the Talo version of it. I carry it for CCW sometimes.

Just an personal opinion, but having shot the gun some, I recommend the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel for it. It's a 200 grain, reduced flash and recoil round for Defense Carry. Faster follow-up, good penetration and expansion, even in the 4 layer testing. The gun will certainly handle stouter rounds, but follow-up is slower with those rounds in a 3 inch barrel. I would go with other things if I were carrying it for Bears etc.

That is truly an all-business Model 29. Superb find. I do not know if that version came with wood, S&W-marked rubber, or those Pachs. Could you possibly show us the whole package for us to learn?

Again, very sweet model.

Regards,

Dyson

DGNY, I'm pretty sure they came with the pachmayrs that are on it. I'll have to take more photos as I only snapped a couple quick ones.

W...Wo...WOW! I LOVE that gun. I have a 629 3 inch and I thought IT looked great...and while mine surely means business...that blued beast right there is a sight to behold!

Congrats.

You have a beautiful revolver. I've got the stainless version 629-4 and just put one of Kurac's round butt to square smooth target stocks, and it was pleasant to shoot. Enjoy yours.

Awesome .44MAG + Awesome background= Me green with envy!!! :D Congrats and Enjoy!!!

Love those 3" 44 magnums. Have a Lew Horton 29 and a 629. Great find. Enjoy it.

Hi Jeff,
What a great looking gun. Excellent pictures as well. Your 29-4 is very similar to my 629-2 Classic Hunter, circa 1988. It's pretty tough to beat those 3 inch N frames. Mine came with Pachmyers as well, that's how they shipped from the factory. I've since replaced them with these Hogue conversion grips.

Bad for my wallet

Man, every time I log on to this forum, I see at least five things that I add to my "must-have" list. I think my wife is going to revoke my computer privileges.

Those are magnificent specimens!!

jubela; What a great looking 29... That gun would look great with any grips...

Jubela,
Another fine looking revolver! Seems that the good ones are in your area. Good for you. Thanks for sharing the photos.
