The educated beer drinker drinks Trappist brew, the uneducated drink PBR, and those that think they know what is good drink Sam Adams.
Man, this hurts. PBR is partially responsible for my college diploma. Back then, Bud and Miller High Life were $.99 a six pack, PBR and Busch Bavarian a dime cheaper. Then, saving another dime you got Pearl or Lone Star, with Buckhorn and Texas Pride cheaper still. None of us wanted to go that far down the beer chain! That ten cent difference between Miller's and Pabst was important to us struggling college guys back then. We certainly didn't have Sam Adams and only got Coors part way through my sojourn in college.
That being said, I prefer metal to plastic. Yes, I have a polymer CZ as a bedroom gun and a P22 as a fun gun, but the rest are either steel or alloy. I mourn the passing of the third gen Smiths, but I have mine and they'll last longer than I will. If I ever need (that is, want) another, I'll probably be able to find one at a respectable price.
The demise of civilization the result of plastic? I've been 27 years in public education. When I'm gone, the world will have to get along without me. I've done what I can by doing my best to mold inquisitive young minds into thoughtful adults and buying metal! Oh, and drinking PBR till the doctor said I'd live longer without it. No alcohol since March 15, 2007. Talk about a drop in quality of life!
