Only just found this thread...all 10 pgs...WOW...
and I only got one S&W semiauto - a very standard Model 52

What other S&W semmiauto do you think I should get to keep it company?
The older the better and/or "obscure" caliber...see obscure cal thread in Re-loading section.

Of all the Smith's I've owned and presently have now, my favorite is a 4013 TSW. It has been the most accurate and smoothest to operate. The slide action is like butter and the trigger is very smooth. As far as an addition to your 52, IMHO the 4013 TSW is one of Smith's best.

Regards,
Bob

The 4053 is not too bad either.....

I mentioned a long while back that I was planning to refinish a beat-up 5903 in Lauer Weaponry's Snow Gray DuraBake. A member or two requested photos. Due to life, death, wedding, and other things, I just finally finished the project. Here are the photos:

Snow Gray slide over Snow Gray frame:

Black slide over Snow Gray frame (my favorite combination):

Stainless slide over Snow Gray frame:

And finally a comparison with the orignial S&W Gray anodizing:

The Snow Gray is quite a bit darker than the S&W Gray it replaced. It's a matt finish and reminds me of the WWII military parkerizing you see on vintage rifles. In my opinion, it doesn't look as good with stainless accessories, as it does with black.

I don't know if this works!

Maybe it will...

Now I know why the 10xx series is so hard to find, Shadow has them all. Very nice 10mm guns there. My 10mm's are some of my favorite handguns.

Thank you all, it started with the 1006 back in March of 1990. As we say to those who get the 10mm's nobody can have just one. One thing that has made some of the collection UNIQUE is the Bar-Sto Match Grade 40S&W & 9x25 Dillon conversion barrels to fit the 5.00" models. FredJ338 is trying to get a group buy going for the 357Sig conversion barrels from Bar-Sto, I am signed on for two, I don't know if enough people will fill the group buy. The conversion barrels are a great way to experience other calibers from the same pistol.

Someday maybe Bar-Sto will do conversions again for these fine pistols either group buys or on there own. There should be a market for the 4.25" 1066/1076/1086 as well as the 5.00" 1006/1026/1046. 10mm/40S&W/357Sig/9x25Dillon all enjoyed from the same pistol with the same sights you are use to!

Why should Glockers be the only ones to enjoy the use of conversion barrels!

Here is mine...

A few pictures of my 1st S&W...

Here is Mine. 915 never been fired. I have had it for 3 weeks, but I cannot find any 9mm FMJ, and I am not going to kill paper with hollow points.

Heck......why not put a couple of mags thru her and see how your good stuff shoots for accuracy? Looks like it's begging to be fired......
