So I've been waiting over a week now for a shipping label to send in my shield .40 for FTF issues. I called them up today and basically they just refilled out another request form for me and told me to wait 48 hours.... I have no faith the label will come and they said the time frame is about 4-6 weeks for repair once they get it. Thing is my ccw is expiring in July and I need to take a course and qualify with it before renewing so my time window is creeping closed.

Anyone have any problems getting shipping labels from them? I'm honestly pretty disappointed with their cs and product right now. *if only Glock made a single stack 9 and .40*

There ought to be a rule. . . .

What is "FTF?" Failure to FIRE or Failure to FEED?????

Just have S&W email you the shipping label. I got one last week and it arrived by email the next morning.

In addition, S&W has an expedited repair service. See number 2 below. Here is info copied from their web site:

I filled out the online form, waited about a week & nothing. Called them and they basically did the same thing as what you had done, waited 3-4 days and nothing, called them again and had them mail me a label. Two days later I got on in my email and the day after I got one in the mail.

I would think a printable label should arrive instantly. I have returned things to Ruger, Amazon, and Newegg. On there dime and the pre payed shipping labels from UPS and Fedex have always been Instantly sent to my email as soon as they generate the request. Thats a pretty diverse group of company's. This kinda leads me to wonder what kinda system there using and are they even putting the request in.

I had to send my Shield in for repair a few months ago. I submitted my request and two days later I got an email with a pdf file for the shipping label. I'm sorry to hear of your experience, but Smith and Wesson took really good care of me. I hope things turn around for you! Good luck!

I just received my M&P 9 back after having it worked on. I called in and got the label the next day, shipped it in, and got an email telling me that it was on it's way back with tracking info in just a little over a week after shipping it in.

I sent my 226 back to Sig and I used Fed Ex overnight express and Sig provided me with a RMA# that i put on the label. I sent it out on a Thursday and the next friday it was delivered to my house fixed. One week turnaround today is great service. Why cannot S&W do the same thing.

I hate to say this, but if they've been saying they're emailing it to you...
Have you checked your Junk/Spam folder?
Depending on your email program/provider, If S&W Customer Service is not in your contact list, it could have been received someplace other than your In Box.

I've been waiting also since Tuesday and it was sent to me thurs. I just looked in spam folder and there it was. Good looking out

thanks for the replies everyone, and sorry... FTF in my case was fail to fire... I have this weird problem where if I grip the gun firmly with the extended 7 round mag, the gun will not fire... Basically, the trigger pulls but the striker does not fire, once I release the trigger, I can pull it again (without racking the slide) and it will fire.

As for the label issue... I have been monitoring my spam email religiously and have received emails from their CS on this issue. One thing to note, the email address the shipping label comes from is different from their normal CS email, but I have added both to my contacts list as well as creating filters to make sure they are not sent to spam.

I guess I will just keep waiting...

I might just end up having to do this... kinda frustrating if you ask me...

I never had the patience to go through the "free mailer" program. When I sent in my 629, & 645 years ago, I sent the gun to S&W on my dime. This way I know they got the gun in a few days of my phone call. The gun came back on their dime. I'll gladly pay for them to get the gun 3 days after I realize a problem exists, rather than wait weeks to receive a "free mailer". GARY

Check your spam folder.

I have been. I've gone as far as to setup their email address in my contacts as well as creating filters to ensure nothing from them is labeled as spam.
