'Sammich" must haves" thread........

I do not snack.

I do not eat in the middle of the night.

Mayonnaise is nasty stuff. Numerous years ago, I found a jar of it in my fridge, three years out of "Use By" date, with only one tablespoon of the vile substance missing. I threw it away, and never replaced it.

Pimento Cheese...it’s known as the Caviar of the South.

Tru Dat! When I was stationed in SC and then moved to NC I became addicted to pimento cheese.

PC on toast, grilled PC sandwiches, PC on cat head biscuits, PC as a Fritos dip, I got to the point that PC often became a substitute for mayo.

The grandkids even like it. I'm keepin' the dream alive.

The key to a good sandwich is the bread. I prefer a quality rye bread or a nice Kaiser roll. If the bread is no good the sandwich has no hope.

Once you have the bread you need quality meat and cheese. I prefer Dietz & Watson, a Philly tradition since 1939. The exception is Lebanon bologna, then it has to be Weaver’s.

Tonight I had Lebanon bologna and American cheese on a Kaiser roll, along with Wise potato chips. As satisfying today as when I was a kid.

Scrambled egg omlet with cubed spam and potatoes P'brien,
Baked Italian sausage on italian bread with mustard.
Baked polish kielbasa on italian bread with stone ground mustard.
Fried spam in sweet green relish on italian bread.
Roast beef in gravy on italian bread.
And ice cold 16oz cans of Budweiser.
Or instead of baking the sausage or kielbasa cook it over a grill then the bread. Frank

Must have samich stuff: bread and meat, cheese, fried eggs or whatever else might be laying around. I only eat three times a day and only eat a sandwich once or twice a week so I'm not keeping a bunch of stuff around that will spoil between uses. I like lettuce wraps, meat around a piece of cheese or vice-versa, sardines on tortillas, polish dog and peanut butter on a bun or tortilla. The only constant is decent cheese, I don't eat processed petroleum products labelled cheese nor mild flavorless cheddar. I do admit to having fished with velveta and pimento "cheeses".

Love that Artisano white bread. Nice & thick, it also makes some great French toast.

Mayo is a must have... cheese... Can't really think of any meat ingredient that is always stocked for sammiches. Unless you count a hot dog as a "sammich" as some do. I always have a pack of cheap Bar S Polish sausages on hand. Sometimes those get kraut, sometimes chili, sometimes just mayo & mustard.

Bread fried in lard with raw beef and raw onions, add black pepper (season to taste). :D;)

Schickhaus Bologna and Land o Lakes white American cheese on Wonder bread with Guldens mustard.
