I don't love or hate the Giants but I'll be pulling for the Royals.

Every year lately the playoffs really expose the Cards weaknesses big time. I knew they were there this year but man did they show up big time. Oh well....life could be a lot worse if I was a Cubs fan.

Well, KC is my home team, so I guess to say the royals will do well is a given..KC is an interesting team, seems that someone always step's up to the plate and the defense has been a game changer in the playoff's..
The weather forecast for games 1 and 2, played at KC looks to be near ideal..
KC has been the Rodney Dangerfield of the American League...They just can't get no respect..
This will be a one year chance for KC, as they will loose James and Butler do to salary and free agency...
KC in 5...

I had hoped for a birdwatcher's Series--Cardinals vs. Orioles--but it was not to be. I have nothing against the Giants, but the Royals have really impressed me. They have a very limited payroll, there are no big-name stars on the roster, and they just get the job done. Their defensive play in the run-up to the Series has been terrific--as my baseball fan sister says, tighter than a gnat's sphincter.

I'd like to see the no-respect guys win it all.

Amazing. The Bobby Thomson do-alike by a scrub who lasted exactly one game with the Yanks last year. The Yanks picked up Ishikawa as a backup at 1b. He struck out twice in 2 ABs in that game AND bozo'ed a play but was not charged with an error. I believe his family was en route to NY at the time. Wonder if the plane was turned around in flight or they parachuted out. Scrub. Go Yanks!

P.S. My favorite all-time team: 9 DHs and a pitching machine.
What is the National League?

giants know how to win ....

just look at the very average stats that most of the team has , fairly low batting averages , not super high rbi totals , anemic stolen base figures . not gigantic home run production .

AND the big bats of posey , pence & panda weren't especially hot in the washington & cards play off series ...... result ? .... they STILL managed to win against both those really superb teams !

i have a foul ball off the bat of willie mCcovey from the 60's era in dodger stadium . programs from the late 60's & early 70's . would not trade those memories for good $.
was discharge from the service in 1971 in frisco & managed to see my giants play one game in the old candelestick park ...never to be forgotten !
win or lose , i am a giants fan for life !!

attn rock n roll kid

Great post! Do you remember:

Juan Marichal's sky high kick when on the mound?

Willie Mays ALWAYS forcing the OF to make a throw to stop him from taking the extra base (no pulling up at 2b)?

Mays scoring from 1b on a ground ball single to RF?

The menace that was Willie McCovey with his frightening LH swing?

They don't make 'em like that anymore. Go Yanks!

It been about 55 years since I rooted for the Giants.

Been 57 since I rooted for the Dodgers.

Tonight the Giants are down 9-0 in the bottom of the 6th. Looks as if it could be a seven-game Series, which is fine with me. And what a ton of fun this one has been to watch! Some fantastic defense on both sides, and that's the heart of the game for me.

My sister is right--Bumgarner has to be an android.
