Saudis Behead, Crucify Convicted Child Molester, Murderer

We who have a CCW believe we have the right to take a life when defending our own life or those that are threatened around us, yet I hear some of the CCW people asking for less than a death sentence when the legal system catches the criminal. I don't understand that double standard.

It puzzles me too. Folks today want law and order but they are little squeamish when it comes to chapter and verse. For most of this country the death penalty in various forms and heavily restricted, is the law. I support that law provided it is accompanied by due process. What I find absurd are the thousands of prisoners on death row who have been there for decades. Don't get me started on the animals sentenced to two or three life terms because a jury was to PC to impose the death penalty. Either enforce the law or change it.

Not that I don't want justice, because I certainly do. But read Houston Rick's post above and give it careful thought-- I know how I would feel if I had an innocent loved one falsely acusused of a crime and then swiftly executed. Our justice system is far from perfect, and there are many things I would like to see changed, definitely as Capt Steve said, speeding up death row proceedings. But overall, I would not want to trade justice systems with any of the barbarion muslim nations.

I don't think anyone here has advocated that. Few, if any feel much remorse for a child molester regardless of how they are punished but I did point out in my post that "due process" must preceed the punishment.

Yes, our system is not perfect but having witnessed firsthand, (actually been a participant in a capitol crime investigation in a third world country), I am convinced ours, with all of its flaws, is the best system on earth. But like they say..."If you can't do the time don't do the crime!"

I've got one across the road from me. He did ten years with another ten on parole. He's 52 years old and looks much older. He dyes his white hair red. His mother lived there when I built my house nine years ago and I didn't know about him until later. She moved out when he came home. He doesn't work and draws SSI. He's got more company than I do. They're mostly ex-cons and druggies.

Right after he got here in February he came walking up my drive way. He wanted to tell me about his daughter stealing from him. I told him if he let her come in it was his fault and don't come on my property unless there is a lot of blood involved. Then I'll take care of business. The daughter was killed a couple of weeks later in one of those 2:00 a.m. car wrecks. That problem took care of itself. Her illegitimate children were farmed out to all of her ex-con significant others after her death.

There have been two pretty good fights over there in the last couple of months. I sit on the porch swing and listen to them. I'm waiting for the big one. Where is rburg when you need him?

Provided Due Process is observed, I have no problem with this and have a couple of good candidates.

One is from a shaken baby case I worked a couple of years back. The child, a mentally-challenged 4 year old, was evidently crying for some reason. The piece of human filth picked the boy up and shook him till he stopped crying, then put him back in his crib, all for disturbing the piece of crap's sleep after drinking all night the night before. Shortly after, he calls 911 when the kid stops breathing. The EMTs did a fantastic job and got the kid to the hospital with a pulse and he was transferred to Akron Children's, where he lay, brain dead, for another two days before the mother decided to pull the plug. The piece of crap finally plead to Involuntary Manslaughter a couple of months ago and got 7 years. 7 FRIKKIN' YEARS for killing a kid. I would GLADLY pull the lever or wield the sword myself on him.

No objection here but I think they got it in the wrong order. Shouldn't it be cruxifiction THEN beheading?

The purpose of it, is to display the body not to torture.

you can find something to admire in almost any culture.

Words to live by. They sound similar to 'Do unto others as you want them to do unto you, or treat people like you wish to be treated.

The Moslem culture has much beauty. Diversity is great, tolerance is great too.

Actually, Charlie, I've taken great pleasure in my neighbors vocal fights.

I've only got one close neighbor that I like. The others are gone, either imprisoned or just gone. Being nosy, I've got my hunting cap. Its got a "big ear", a directional microphone, on the bill. Just add batteries and listen!

Some of the wars were pretty interesting. And the eventual outcome or break up was very predictable.

The best one was the couple known as the dykes. For obvious reasons. One day, and it was a Labor Day about 16 or 17 years ago, they began a yelling and dish breaking contest.

I just listened and smiled. You heard all kinds of little dirty family secrets being aired out!

After a couple of hours of it, I was sure there was no glass left to shatter. But they somehow found more.

Then I heard a weak knock-knock on my back door. It was the neighbor from 2 doors on up. He said "Have you been hearing that!" How could I help it? It was right next door to me. Then very innocently, he suggested they weren't just same sex room mates, because normal people would leave and cool off. So I asked him to come out front and sit for a spell. He was amazed at the things they were saying!
