Say what you will about Walmart

Cheapest for 22 magnum too. Paid $10.25 for CCI 40 grain per 50 and had the 100 round box for $20.50 last I checked. Beats $15-20 at my LGS or Bass Pro Shop.

I was in Wally World about a week ago and decided to walk by what was previously the ammo counter. The cupboard was bare but I asked the guy standing there whether they had any 22. He said that another customer had left with the last three boxes less than 5 minutes earlier. He offered to check two cardboard boxes under the counter with some ammo in them. The first contained shotgun shells. He opened the second one and said wait, here is some. He then pulled out four boxes of 22 Magnum. I struck out on the ammo but it was nice to run across a WM employee who was willing to make the effort.

Rosewood mentioned above that his Walmart had a 2 box limit, I had never seen a limit on ammo from Walmart.
Apparently ours now has a limit as well.

I went in yesterday morning and there were around 40 boxes of CCI, 50 round packs of Maxi-Mag .22 magnum.
And a half dozen boxes of Federal 28 gauge.
I only have one .22 Mag firearm, a Ruger Single Six that has both cylinders, and I have a .30 cal ammo can full of .22 WMR.

So I called a friend that has 4 guns that fire .22 Mag, and told him that Walmart had ammo. He let me know later that when he asked for 10 boxes, they told him he could only buy 2.

Without the limit, the flippers would buy all they have then sell it for 2-3 times the price online or at the flea market. The limit at least slows down the purchases by the flippers and gives the average joe time to get ammo for his gun at reasonable prices before it sells out.

In the Durham-Chapel Hill area of NC for a few days. Today stopped in a Dicks to browse golf stuff. Walmart nearby. Decided what the heck-check it out for ammo. Another right place at right time. Winchester Super-x 100 round 22lr @ $8.38 and CCI Standard Velocity 50 round @3.67 box. Limit 2 each kind. (Also had shotgun shells 12,410,20 guage.

Bought my 4 box limit of 22lr. (Don’t own a shotgun). Lady clerk said just got it in today. Glad to find it-been looking for some for a family that lives out in the country up in the Shenandoah Valley for their boys to target practice with their .22s as they can’t find any where they live.
